BREAKING UP TENACIOUS GOO

Based on “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” written by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield

Chest percussion or CPT
Is special kind of therapy
It’s a method tried and true
For breaking up tenacious goo

Mucous can cling to airways tight
Like a jelly filled parasite
So percussion’s what we do
To break up that tenacious goo

It’s good for breaking up thick sticky goo
So the oxygen can get through
It’s a helping hand to lend
It really feels great
When it helps you expectorate some phlegm

If sputum is in large supply
And you want to make it go bye bye
Chest percussion’s an avenue
For breaking up tenacious goo

It’s good for breaking up thick sticky goo
So the oxygen can get through
It’s a helping hand to lend
It sure can do the job
To help cough up a great big blob of phlegm

If sputum starts to ossify
Chest percussion might be worth a try
It can be the right thing to do
To break up that tenacious goo
