YOUR SONG 1997

Based on “Your Song” written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin

It’s a little bit numbing that feeling inside
You get when one close to you’s suddenly died
A woman stunning so superlative
Whose life was about how much she could give

God’s exquisite sculpture inequity’s foe
Now a sad tragic postscript that we all to well know
I don’t know how much that words can actually do
But it can’t be wrong to say this to you

Now and forever more Princess this is your song
Don’t want to sound simple but now that you’re gone
I hope it’s all right I hope it’s all right
That I’ve put down in words
How wonderful life was with you in the world

Sometimes it’s hard to depict a great loss

Like the four people that told the story of the cross
But I know I must find the strength to go on

To keep grieving for you would be very wrong

So I guess that I’m saying what I now must do
Is to remember all the good times that we knew
Anyway dear Princess what I really mean
Enjoy life in the sky calm and serene
