Grandma’s
all ready to go away dear
So we can be alone
Christmas Eve
It’s like the perfect present from Santa
For us to get this Christmas time reprieve
We’ve been taking care
of her now
For about six months or so
Giving her her medications
Turning her and cleaning her up down below
When we up wake
Christmas morning
We will have our old life back
Free of tube feedings and bedpans
Like it was before she had her heart attack
Grandma’s
all ready to go away dear
So we can be alone Christmas Eve
It’s like the perfect present from Santa
For us to get this Christmas time reprieve
It’s been hard since
she lost Grandpa
It was a surprise bombshell
And the aftermath has left her
In a constant state of never feeling well
So this Christmas
morning Grandma
Won’t be in our living room
Our holiday will be peaceful
And we’ll be free of her constant doom and gloom
Grandma’s
all ready to go away dear
So we can be alone Christmas Eve
It’s like the perfect present from Santa
For us to get this Christmas time reprieve
I’m so glad we will be
able
To at last get time alone
Now this will be the beginning
Of a Christmas tradition that’s just our own
God bless all those
respite workers
Helping us get back on track
And we’ll be so glad to see her
The day after Christmas when they bring her back
Grandma’s
all ready to go away dear
So we can be alone Christmas Eve
It’s like the perfect present from Santa
For us to get this Christmas time reprieve
