There’s a funny named infection you should know about
And I think you will agree
When I tell you all about it you will try to make sure
That you stay infection free

They call it cat scratch fever

You can get it from the bite or the scratch of a cat
Where you’ll find a boil like crusting sore
Next thing that can happen is your lymph nodes will swell
Then flu symptoms are in store

It can be dangerous and cause you pain
And give you ch-ch-chills
The infection might even go to your brain
Give you encephalitis-itis
Messing up your head

So if a kitty cat scratches or bites your hand
Wash it up immediately
And keep you pet free of fleas just as much as you can
With luck you never will see
